What matters at this stage

The rules that catch people out.

The requirements most often missed at the Operate stage — and the ones that cost the most to put right later.

01
VAT returns, usually bi-monthlyFiled through ROS by the 23rd of the month following the period end. Your filing frequency is set at registration and isn’t the same for every company.
02
Payroll is reported in real timeA payroll submission must reach Revenue on or before each pay date — not at month end. Paying the PAYE, PRSI and USC is a separate deadline, the 23rd of the following month.
03
Corporation tax nine months outYour CT1 is due by the 23rd day of the ninth month after your accounting period end, with preliminary tax due earlier in the period.
04
Auto-enrolment is liveMy Future Fund began on 1 January 2026. Employees aged 23 to 60 earning over €20,000 who aren’t already in a payroll pension are enrolled automatically.
05
Your books feed your filingsBookkeeping isn’t an end in itself — it produces the VAT returns, the financial statements and the numbers attached to your annual return.
Common questions

Operate — your questions

The questions clients ask us most often about this stage. If yours isn’t here, just ask.

Do I need an accountant and a company secretary?

Most firms give you one or the other. Because we do both, your financial statements and your CRO filings come from the same record — which removes a common source of error.

Can you take over from our current accountant?

Yes. We handle the handover, including professional clearance and migrating your accounting file.

Do you work with Xero?

We’re a Xero Platinum Partner, one of only five in Ireland. We set it up, migrate you across, train your team and support it afterwards.

What if we only need payroll?

That’s fine. Services are bought individually — you don’t have to move everything at once.

Wherever your company is, we can take it from here.

One firm across all six stages — so nothing gets lost when your company moves from one to the next.
